Janet Heath - Garden Advice and Design

The Process - Garden or Border design

Initial Visit
Contact me and we will arrange a mutually convenient initial visit to view the your garden, discuss the services you require and your budget. It would be helpful if you could think about what you like and also what you loathe, as all of this helps in the design process. I will also show you a portfolio of designs. For smaller gardens I can also do the survey at this stage.

Quotation
Assuming that you wish to proceed I will write to you after our meeting to confirm the brief and design fee. The fee will depend on the service required and take into account the size and complexity of the garden. I will ask you to confirm your acceptance of the fee in writing.

Site Survey
If the garden is large I will do the survey on a second visit, as it can take time and it is important to get the details accurate.

Design Proposal
After completing the design we will arrange a further visit to discuss the design proposal and view the sketches. If any changes are required, then these will be made.

Final Design Documents
You will receive the designs, planting plans and construction details of hard landscaping features so that you can commission your own contractors or do the work yourself.

If you wish, I can discuss the designs with the contractors or can assist you with preparing borders and planting up the garden.

Fees

An initial visit and quotation will be free.

Garden Starter Days
A practical garden day will be £100 payable at the end of the day.

Garden Consultancy
At the time of the visit we will discuss the scope of the advice and the fee will reflect the amount of research required. A deposit of 25% will be requested at the time of the visit with the balance payable on delivery of the report.

Garden and Border Design
If you decide to go ahead, I will ask for payment of 25% of the fee with your written acceptance of the design brief with the balance being paid at handover of final drawings and documents.

Where practical days or contractors meetings are involved, payment will be requested at the end of the day. A valid bankers card should support payments by cheque.
