I have been gardening for over 20 years and have good horticultural knowledge based on practical experience. I also attended Reaseheath College at Nantwich to study a Foundation Degree in Garden and Landscape Design and an NVQ in Horticulture. This developed my hard and soft landscaping skills and included various show builds culminating in managing the build of a silver gilt medal winning garden at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in 2007. My enthusiasm for gardening started when I had a large garden, initially mostly lawn. I created a vegetable garden then moved on to creating beds, which rapidly became full of hundreds of different varieties of plants. A couple of ponds and the maturing garden brought in a host of wildlife. My approach is to be organic as far as possible, and to grow plants that suit the situation and growing conditions. I enjoy inspiring others to try their hand at gardening and also love designing gardens. It is exciting seeing the potential in a space be it a small courtyard, communal space or larger garden, and interpreting it to fit in with the owner’s likes and dislikes. |
